Why is he so grumpy?? :(
Ok so, if you didn't know, my 1 yr old bp, Geno, has been very grumpy recently. I have him on a 10 min twice a week schedule (For handling). So on Sundays and Tuesdays I have him out for 10 mins and on Thursday I feed him. It works out pretty well, but I just started last Sunday so this was my 3rd time. BUT, I noticed he was going into shed when I had him out today (His eyes turned that milky blue), but before that I got a pretty good unexpected bite. I'm wondering if going into shed is making him like this? He ate fine last Thursday. But even just now I went to go mist his tank and he was automatically ready to strike :( Please help, I'm wondering if there's anything I'm doing wrong or if it's just a snake thing..? Thank you so much in advance :)

Not to worry, He's just in Shed mood. Ball Pythons are usually grumpy when in shed, especially during the clouding stage because they can't see. Just leave him be until he's done shedding and he'll be right as rain afterwards!

Yeah, he's acting defensively because he's in shed and his vision is compromised.
It is best to keep handling to a minimum throughout the shedding process. After he sheds, resume handling as scheduled and you'll be fine.

Your snake hates you and will probably start sizing you up to eat you!!!......

Or your snake could be shedding and cranky.

If you're worried about him striking at you whilst you're misting, just mist him as well :D Peaches HATES it and she goes from ready to strike to being hidden in three seconds flat :D:D
