More Bad Luck - Freezer Stopped Working, Are the Rats Still OK to Feed?
I keep the rats in the freezer downstairs, and overnight I guess it stopped running for some reason? I immediately brought the rats up to our main freezer.
Most if not all of them are thawed out. They're still cold to the touch.
One pack of rats is vacuum sealed and another is separated into a big bag of 2 layers of freezer ziplock bags, if that's relevant.
Do you think it's okay if I still feed them off? I was hoping they would last me until January/February but if I have to buy another order I will :(

when in doubt, throw them out.
i had the same thing happen to me not too long ago. i just went ahead and bought new stock.
TBH i might hang on to the vaccum-sealed feeders. you can try offering them but if you get refusals you might need to just toss them.

But, being that I cook for a living and have been working with food for over 20 years, if the food stays under 47 degrees it is safe to refreeze and still use. Unfortunately, I don't know if that was the case.
Hope that helps a bit.
thanks guys.
i threw out the rats but kept the vacuum sealed ones. i'm not sure of the rats' temperatures when i found them but they felt as cold as they would've if they were frozen, except they were thawed and soft. i'll try feeding tomorrow and hopefully they're still good!
edit: rats'
