    switch to frozen
    how can i switch my bp from live to frozen?
    at this time am learning my bp to eat live rat. before they ate live mice.
    i have one subadult female maybe is wc but eating live large mice.
    one baby female that she eating large mice without any porblem.
    and one 2 month male baby that he eating rat fuzzies.
    it's hard to switch to frozen rats?

    I didn't have a problem switching Shikara to f/t. Just make sure it's warmed up (don't use the microwave). You may have to use a pair of long tongs to move the dead rat around. Shikara seems to really like the zombie dance. He won't really mess with the rat unless I do it.

    It may be easier to try offering a prekilled rat or mouse first before converting directly to frozen.

    When working with frozen make sure it is completely defrosted (check the head area, the skull always seems to defrost last that I've noticed). I defrost my rodents in warm water and then run them quickly under hot water right before I feed them to make sure the rodents are good and warm.

    Don't use the microwave, rodents explode in the microwave.

    I didn't have any problem switching any of my guys over though.
