    Nippy baby retic
This little dud hit me tonight when I was trying to take him out. He seems fine once he's out of his tank. Do other people experience this too with baby retics? Think he will grow out of it as he gets older and bigger?

Maybe. Maybe not. Is he new? Caesar my retic has never tried to bite me or even hiss at me. He did his and open his mouth at the hook when i tried to hook train him. Thats when i learned he hated it so i used a twisted paper towel. But anyways, every snake is going to have it's own personality and also will depend on how much you work with it.

Did you approach from the front ?

I always go in from behind , after carefully guiding their head/teeth in the opposite direction using a 3 dollar snake hook ..

It's perfectly normal for baby retics to be nippy, especially until they figure out that you are not a great big predator intent on gobbling them up. Use a hook to get them out at first, or just cover him with a small light hand towel so he doesn't see your hand coming.
