Kashmire Feed - Dial Up Warning
Kashmire has been hanging out on top of his cool side hide the last couple of days, very observant to his surroundings (and probably enjoying the heat of the infrared heat light I have above it). So, I normally would feed him tomorrow, but decided I'd see if he wanted to feed tonight (he fed last Saturday). I put the mouse in at the other end and he perked up immediately, started to hang over his hide to watch for the mouse to come under him. Didn't take long and from the pictures, you can see half of his body is still up in the top of the hide. I also took pictures after he ate, where you can see the mouse right where the blushing in his back is, and then a few shots of him in his cool side hide ready for his two day nap! My first feed pictures. Thanks to Adam and the support of others, you'd never know that this was a reluctant feeder and a sick snake (from parasites). He's such a good feeder!

Re: Kashmire Feed - Dial Up Warning
Robin, great set of pics! I always love when they stretch up high to get the last bit of the mouse down and suck that mousey tail in (I call it the "look ma no hands" pose). What a change in Kashmire since he's feeling so much better. Doesn't look "reluctant" to me LOL.
I love that tree hide thingy! Where in the world did you find it?

Re: Kashmire Feed - Dial Up Warning
Awesome pictures Robin. I have to feed Shikara in a separate tank because he gets substrate in his mouth then has a really hard time getting it out. Also I noticed that when I was feeding him in his home every time I opened the top he rushes out like he's gonna eat me. I figure it might also minimize the chances I'll get bit. Of course I know at some point in snake ownership I'm bound to be bitten.

Joanna,
I got that tree thingy at PetSmart interestingly enough! Yeah, no relcutant feeder yet. He was ready to eat several days ago, but I don't want to power feed him or feed him too often (after the reason why was explained the one time I fed him two days after a feed).
Coyotemoon,
At one point when he was figuring out the head end (he always seems to try to start in the middle) he curled his head around and got a little substrate in his mouth and let go of the mouse, and it was like a kid who got a bad taste in his mouth going "yucky", and opened his mouth a little to get the little piece of substrate out. I don't worry as much about it after reading Adam's explanations that he's perfectly capable of passing a little substrate.
Last person (sorry, forgot your user name!), there's one cobra pose in there! LOL
OK, off to work for the 3rd strait day of inventory! Fun stuff! Too bad I'm salaried, the overtime would have been AWESOME! LL
