    She big girl
I have a female ball python who is little over 3ft and she weighed seven-hundred-something (under 750) grams a week or two ago and i bumped up her feeding to every 5-6 days to gain some weight on her. Should i have a target goal for her? Now she’s around 820.

Why are you trying to beef her up? How old is she? What are you feeding her? BP have different weight at different ages. They are all different just like us.

I don’t know her age because i got her off a Craigslist with burns and other stuff and i couldn’t bare seeing a ball python like that so i immediately got an enclosure ready and bought her without any other information. I’m feeding her small rats and I’ve had her for about 6ish months now.

Feed her 10% of her body weight every week. If she is healthy she is fine. Is her husbandry on point? If not check out the stickies and make sure.

there is no need to "beef up" or overfeed. pythons can easily become obese and it's prevalent in the hobby. stick to a weekly schedule.

the 10-15% rule really only applies to hatchlings/juveniles. at 800g+ she's likely past the 10-15% rule. just trying to spread some knowledge! [emoji4]
