    Temperatures, Heat Mats, and Thermostats?
So, probably a stupid question, but better safe than sorry.

I should be getting a new BP in about two weeks, I'm getting an Ultratherm Heat Mat, and I'm new to thermostats. What temperature (celsius) should I set it (the thermostat) to?

Current ambience of the tank seems to be staying at around 20-25 degrees, I'll update if that changes at all.

Oh, and if anyone has any tips for checking thermometer accuracy, that would be appreciated too :P

    Thanks!

you're going to have to monitor the thermostat and floor temperatures for at least a day to figure out what to set the thermostat to. with my T8, i have my Herpstat set to (i think) 98° F to achieve a 90° hotspot. for the glass enclosure, the Herpstat is set to (again, i think) 95° to achieve a 90° hotspot.

everyone's environment is different, so how my thermostats are set might not work for you. you're just going to have to monitor the setup until you have everything dialed in.

Ok, I have it set up so it switches off at 35C- and turns back on at 33C. This sound about right? And is it normal for it to go down pretty fast? Sorry, like I said, I'm new to these :P
