1st Week BP Expectations from New BP Owner
So I've had my BP for a total of 5 days and I have not seen him since I had to open his hide and feed him a F/T. I understand he needs to be properly acclimated to a new environment so I'm leaving him be. Do they usually start wandering about after a certain amount of time? I haven't changed his water yet because it looks like it hasn't been touched. I'm also wondering about his poop? If he constantly stays in the hide, will he go there? I don't want to disturb him by looking around for it.
My plan is to wait another 4-5 days until I feed again. Then with a couple feeds under my belt, I'll start trying to entertain the idea of holding him.
Sound like a good plan?
FYI...I've looked for him day and night and not a sign. I'm guessing he's under the hot side hide.

Some start to wander right away, some it will take a while. some will only leave the hide for water a few times a week.
He might poop in his hide. Some do.
Sounds like a good plan for a new beep!

If he happens to poop in his hide do you usually give him a bath, wipe him down, etc??
Also, I purchased chlorhexadine on Reptile Basics for disinfecting. Good choice or is there something better to use?

Yeah, If he gets it on him a quick rinse down usually works pretty well.
I rinse mine off each time I take them out of the tank. Mostly because my skin doesn't react well to strange germs and I carry snakes on my neck most of the time.
as for disinfecting I've not tried that brand.
