I thaw out my feeders in te room with a fan blown g over them to get the noodles excited. This little girl was a little impatient and was trying to find a way out to get to lunch. She got a bigger meal than usual since I ran out of what o had been feeding her. She's 280g on empty and she took down a 45g rat without hesitating. I had been feeding her a rat pup and was about to start doubling up, but didn't realize I had ran out of them. Oh well, similar mass in the end.

Just purchased the same thermometer. Does it just register surface temp and humidity and not ambient?
Re: A little derpy tonight
It'll read ambient if you suspend the probe in the middle of the tub/tank. This one is buried under the bedding on the hot spot. It reads about 90-93* when its left alone and goes up to 98* when the snake curls up ontop and traps the heat. Shows how much there bodies trap the heat making it hotter than the output.
I'm liking them. I picked up 2 to finish up an order to get free shipping. Which essential amounted to a buy one get one free with the thermometers. If been using the Walmart ones wher you place the u it in the tub. But after prolonged exposure to high humidity, from spilling bowls, they start to fail. I think I'll get more of these in te future.

If you put it up high in the enclosure it gets ambient. But the closer to set it to the surface, it will just get surface temps.

And it's funny, this little noodle will start trying to flip upside down when I'm holding her and walking around. She'll raise her head up to smell and see better, ten keep raising up until she's backwards. She's an oddball.

Then again. The ones I get don't have that cord. Its just open air.

That's what I figured. I read somewhere about a thermo that had two temp readings for surface and ambient and was hoping this one could do that. Looks like I'll need to purchase my 3rd thermometer for the enclosure :)

I've got two in it. One up high and one on surface. And it shows about a 5-7 degree difference. And about 5% humidity difference.

I was going to do one on the cool side surface but if it's not needed then I'd prefer to pass. So one on the hot side and one reading ambient might be sufficient.
