    Shedding issues?
Hey guys so... my little one has been hiding for a little more than a week not coming out at all and I just noticed that he's about to be in shed, his color changed and his eyes are getting blueish, anyways, he ate with no issues on his eating day.. my question is that he's been just on his hide ever since not coming out at all and he's just on the cool side, is this normal? His temperature is good and his humidity is good as well, how long does it normally take for them to shed? Anything that I should be aware of? Sorry about this question it's just that I'm a newbie concerned dad lol

    Thanks in advance!

If the temps are good it doesn't matter where the snake decides to hang out.

One of my snakes has shed overnight before. It can take around two weeks too. It depends on the snake and humidity should be around like 70% for their shedding. My snake, Tiger, once had blue eyes, they faded. Nothing happened for a week, then BAM I wake up and a perfect shed is sitting by his water bowl

Unless , of course , they are out climbing branches in the evening ..... that's when they're REALLY happy :)

Just give your Viv a good spraying every day , then when the snake gets his colour back and eyes clear you up the spraying to a few times a day - he will shed perfectly a few days after that .. You normally find the shedded skin in a dirty rolled up ball under one of the hides ...

As long as your temps and humidity are good, with humidity bumped to about 70% during shed, nothing to worry about. Some take longer than others, and most will stay hidden from the very beginning of a shed cycle til they shed.

Hey guys a quick update... he did have issues shedding, I had to help him out, it was just the tip of his tail and a little on the middle of his body, I'm not quite sure why, I mist the tank 3 times a day, it was always between 50-70%, and I have a pricy humidity thingy that checks the humidity :/, he seems fine, I did a lot of research on how to assist them to finish shedding, but I don't want that to happen again, any suggestions on how to keep the humidity consistent? I work 10 hours 6 days a week so I generally mist him in the morning, my gf does it in the afternoon and I mist him again at night [emoji20][emoji17] I feel like a bad dad

    You're doing fine , don't worry ...

A quick fix is to have a wet , rough textured towel at hand , then get him out and let him slither inside the towel for five minutes or so , just keep covering his head as he pops out .
Apply very gentle pressure with your hands ..
That will normally take any stubborn skin of safely ..

Also aim for things to help humidity stay high vs a misting:

Moss in hides. Large, shallow water bowl for basking. Wet (not soaking) washcloth, towel, sponge, etc in enclosure. Stuff like that is why I can keep mine in a glass tank and have no shedding issues.

Hardly mist anymore unless to offset humidity loss from opening the lid.
