Herp stat intro probe placement

Where should I place the probe for my herp stat thermostat? Please explain and maybe a picture would help.

I already have stuck the heater to the bottom of the tank. I can't remove the UTH and sandwich the probe :-/

Peel it off slowly and just enough to put the probe in the middle and stick it again. You might need foil tape if it doesn't stick well.
