Cheap DIY Hide Tutorial [With Pics]

Hi all! I thought I'd share my way of making cheap hides that look pretty nice, using your average plastic cereal bowl. I bought this one for about $4 at Target.

I used a cordless Dremel 700, with the cutting wheel and sanding cone heads. They're pretty affordable, I bought mine at Wal-Mart and it came with the attachments pictured.

Start by sketching a semi-circle a bit larger than your snake's widest point. Then begin to carve out the shape using the cutting wheel. Depending on your bowl, melted plastic will build up around your cuts, so I angled the wheel to cut off these excess pieces.

Once you have the basic shape cut, you should be able to relatively easily punch out the shape, leaving some sharp edges.

Then, using the sanding cone attachment, carefully sand down all of the edges. Once it feels completely smooth to you, give your new hide a good wash and you're done! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5fe0863806.jpg

Haha "snake Tested, snake approved" I want a pin or something with that on it. Anyways, these are really cute, kinda reminds me of little futuristic pod houses or something, now if only I would actually buy that dremel in my amazon cart (thats not sarcastic, I actually have a dremel on my amazon wish list lol)
