Missing BP?

Three days ago, my friend's normal ball python disappeared and she has basically destroyed her home trying to find him. She put mice out but it didn't work.

She said there's no openings where he could've escaped, but he could've found a hidden exit.

Does anyone know anything she could do to find Diego? I told her to ask around and put up flyers in case he got outside and someone saw him. But I don't know much about escaped snakes. Any help is appreciated.

Ive heard stories of missing snakes turning up weeks after they escaped. They can fit their bodies in the tightest spaces, if their eyes can get through it, they can probably squeeze themselves,in there (what I have heard). I would say don't give up hope and keep a sharp eye. I had two snakes go missing the other day. My dog found one (barked at it and didn't hurt it) and I found the other one HOURS later hiding in my trashcan and behind my dresser. I am sure others can give better advice than me, but I hope the best for your friend's snake ❤

Check the refrigerator. Seems like I've seen more escaped snakes found there than anywhere else. Pull it out and look in the area of the motor and condenser. There are some warm spots they seem to find and like.

Also check all cluttered closets. Even the upper shelves. I've also seen them found there many times.

Thanks. I had two of my birds out and accidentally fell asleep and woke up to one missing and after 5 minutes I found him sitting between the footboard and mattress.

She'll find him though. He's gotta be in there somewhere.

I've heard about putting crinkly material (such as plastic bags) in strategic spots along the walls and behind furniture. Just after dark, sit quietly (and patiently!) to see if you hear any crinkling. Beyond that I've heard of covering doorjambs and areas between rooms with flour to see if any snake tracks show up in the night, to maybe help narrow down which room the escapee is in. Check the laundry room as well as the fridge area. I've heard of snakes crawling between, behind, and into washer and dryer appliances through open workings. I would do the same to the washer and dryer as was suggested for the fridge, and pull them out and look behind/inside. Also pull up couch cushions if you haven't already, and search any dark, tight and/or cluttered spaces.

Definitely try the flour trick and put lines of flour throughout the house. The more lines then better imo, you never know where he might be, and the more lines that are disturbed the better an idea you have of his direction of movement.

Good luck finding the little guy. How did he escape, if I might ask?

EDIT: The flour trick will only work well if everyone in the house knows about and tries not to disturb the flour lines. I don't know if you're friend has housemates or free-roam animals like indoor cats or dogs but if so the flour might not be the best idea.
