    New BP morph feeding question!
Hey guys I just purchased a young Butter Ghost morph The store said she hasn't eaten in a couple weeks. I brought her home and left her alone for a few days, then gave her a pinky. She seemed to be hungry. Also I think she needs fuzzys instead of pinkys. It seemed to be a small meal for her. I have 3 more frozen pinkys. Should I feed another one in a few days? Move straight to a fuzzy? Thanks!

    welcome!:welcome:

fuzzy mice or rats? because both of these are too small for the average beep. depending on how much the snake weighs you need to feed the appropriate size.

    Welcome!!!

Refer to the chart that tttaylorrr posted above.

If you're new to snakes you'd be surprised what size prey they actually get down. The prey be about the size of the thickest part of the snake and should leave a small, noticeable lump after it has been swallowed. However, going too big can lead to regurgitations and other health issues. So just because they can eat it doesn't mean they should.

Follow the chart above and you'll be in good shape.

I agree. So feed 2 or 3 pinkies per feeding until they are used up. Note that the BP feeding chart allows for feeding multiple mice at a time. The one thing I disagree with is using jumbo mice. At lot of that weight is fat, and I don't think that much fat is good for reptiles. There is at least one case of steatitis (in a boa constrictor) caused by a diet of fat rats.

That's what I'd do. Even though there may be somebody to disagree with it. Its what I'm doing right now with one of mine. He's on small mice But I have hoppers left. So I give him 2. I really don't want to waste the money and just throw them away.
