    Scale rot?!
Hello again! I was holding Geno today and noticed some weird looking scales.. Is it normal for them to have a couple scales missing/damaged? I am hoping it's not scale rot! I thought maybe he was eating live at one point and the mouse/rat got him? He's eating frozen thawed now though, I'd never feed live. I don't know what to do! This could just be normal and I'm freaking out over nothing lol, but I'd like to be sure. He is a 1 yr old pastel male ball python. Thank you so much for your replies :)

(I tried to add some pictures but it didn't work :( I am going to try to in the comments though :))

Scale rot usually happens on the belly, I've actually never seen scale rot anywhere else on a snake.

They're probably scars from rat bites, a few good sheds and the minor ones on his head will be gone. I don't know about the ones on his back.

My baby Seven has a few of those on her nose, but nowhere else. It's not anything to be worried about, is it?

Thank you! Yeah, that's what I thought, so I looked at his belly and it was fine :) So I'm assuming too, that it's just some rat bites.. Fingers crossed haha.
