What do you keep your humidity at?
What do you personally set your humidity to? Does yours vary throughout the enclosure because of the UTH? Also, I'm currently doing the aluminum foil method so I'd like to hear if any of you are doing the same.

My humidity drops a lot and it is very hard to keep it in the 60 range. I have two large water bowls on either side and a small bowl near the front of my BP's enclosure. I also have wash clothes I get damp often and put those on the top with another towel covering it. I also mist her tank. Her humidity frequently takes a nose dive more often than I would like, but I try my best to keep it in the 50-60 range.:gj:

I spray their vivs whenever I'm doing water changes and whenever I think about it but when mine go into shed I spray the viv EVERY day then as soon as their eyes clear and they get their colour back I start spraying a few times each day ... You'll probably find :cens0r:the messy , rolled up lump of skin UNDER his hide afterwards ) .
Note they get their colour back and the eyes clear a few days BEFORE the skin actually comes off .

I also have a screen top with the foil on top. It is a bit of a challenge keeping the humidity up but I've been able to keep it at a pretty steady 50-55 range, its just getting it higher during sheds that is my issue :P

I have a humidifier in my room to keep up the humidity throughout the whole room, that helps a lot. I also mist pretty often and put a damp washcloth on the top of my hot hide

I try to keep it in the middle of range 55%, so if it dip or goes up a little, I'm still within specs.

If your humidity is that crappy, spend the money and give Reptile Prime (Herptopia) a shot. I actually had to stop using it in a couple of racks because 100% dry, it seems to absorb the moist air and the humidity was staying in the 80s...

I also have foil on top. Mine stays at 60. I use herptopia bedding that's is damp. I usually only have to mist as the top dries out so every other day. I up it to 70 when she goes into shed.

I have an AP cage and keep my humidity between 55-65, closer to 70 when in shed. I also have two little plastic dishes and keep moist sphagnum moss on each side of the cage (the dishes keep it from mildewing the mulch) when needed.
If he dumps his water or right after I refresh the moss the humidity will jump to the 80 range, but falls over a few hours. This time of year I don't have much trouble since the ambient humidity is so high. His cage right now is reading 61% and 75%, and the room ambient is sitting at 67% - his moss is dry. The higher side just happens to be closer to the water bowl and the lower side has a CHE running.

Thank you very much for the detailed response. :) It's very helpful and I'll keep in mind for when my bp goes into shed. I also try to keep my humidity at 55-65.
