Re: Heating...Electric Bill.
If the rates would stop going up, I wouldn't notice much difference in the electric bills. :frustrate I can't tell you how much exactly, but it's slight.
Re: Heating...Electric Bill.
We were just talking about this not 5 mins ago. Yes, I do. We went from just having Thor, to having Isis. Not really a big change there, but now with Casper, Loki and Baulder to care for, our power consumption is much higher. Any suggestions?
Re: Heating...Electric Bill.
I did not notice a HUGE difference until I got my sun loving lizards. (bd's and mail uro) Since having the sun loving lizards, I have seen roughly a $30 to $50 (tops) a month jump in my electric during the summer months, and I cant tell you how much during the winter yet, as this will be our first winter in our new house, but in the old place, my electric was an extra $30-$40 on top of the $30-$50 already paid in the summer time.
When it was only the 4 snakes, it was about 1/4 of what it is now a month.
I really dont know that there is much you can do to save on your electric bill when you have reptiles requiring heat sources.
Re: Heating...Electric Bill.
My electric bill was $45 in the winter and about $75 in the summer.
Then I found the wonderfull world of bp's & salt water fish tanks
My little collection
bp's
2.2 norm.
1.1 albino
0.1 spider
Boas
0.1 norm
1.0 albino
1.0 ghost
3 150g saltwater tanks
2 100 oscar tanks
Now my bill $175-$200 I have had the cops here twice because of the spike in electric they thought. I was growing weed! LOL
Re: Heating...Electric Bill.

Re: Heating...Electric Bill.
My mom said our bill was between 200- 300 dollars and we only have one snake. Somethin not right there.
Re: Heating...Electric Bill.
Ahh the price we pay for our animals, yeah I saw about a 25-45 price increase, but once I created my reptile room I noticed a 10-15 drop again. With all the heating going on the room stays at 80-81* instead of the 75 my wife keeps the rest of the house at so stuffs not having to run non stop to maintain temps.
Re: Heating...Electric Bill.
My bill didn't change to much until I expanded to the current number of snakes and scorpions I currently have. My gas bill will probably "blow up" when I turn the heat on this fall.
