    I think it's ok, but welcome advise.

    My MBK is currently in the temporary 11 qt. tub. I picked up on of these dowels and cut it to size to fit inside... just to give her a little something extra if she wants to climb (purchased from A.C. Moore, though can't find info on there website):

    Unfortunately, nothing on the label, display stand, or anywhere else says what kind of wood it is. Just that its natural unfinished wood. Due to the nature of the porous wood, I only intend to keep it in there temporarily. Is this wood ok?

    And, second, purchased from Petco, would this one be good long-term in her permanent larger enclosure?

    The top one, if left untreated could eventually end up growing mold. As a temporary thing, I'm pretty sure you're fine, just keep an eye on it.

    The second one looks good
