    A Different Sort of Progression
I've mentioned a few times about my current living situation - currently in a two hundred year old farm house, only part of which is heated and cooled, the other portion having no source of heat or air beyond fans. It is SMALL - there's around 700 sq ft of livable space for two people (and one tiny bathroom). The oldest portion of the house has ancient wiring, and I get nervous keeping anything plugged in for an extended period of time.

Needless to say... NOT a great environment for keeping reptiles. I currently have two BPs that live in two separate tubs in the updated part of the house, but I want more, so many more! I was in a spot for awhile where I couldn't afford many animals, but that time has passed and I'm positively itching to expand my collection. I really have no desire to breed (except maybe on a very small, curious level) and am simply looking to enjoy the differences in the species my husband and I wish to keep.

I have big plans and big dreams, and some of them are beginning to become reality!

Hope to be in this brand new house by Thanksgiving. All the drywall inside is done, and the siding is done along the back and sides, though not the front obviously.

We will have a full finished basement and three bedrooms, and SO much space to expand, not to mention climate controls.

Is it bad that I'm already planning my out a reptile room?

It is good to plan ahead, especially with how you will limit your collection. Seems no matter how much space I have, I start out thinking that there is no way I will fill it, but I always do.

Make sure you have plenty of space in your breaker box, and outlets! ... cuz you never know when enough snakes is really enough! :rolleye2:

    Congrats on the new house!

I'm sure we'll fill up the space... My husband wants a tegu, and we're planning to pretty much keep the basement area as tegu territory with a very, very large cage but also the ability to free roam. And one of the bedrooms is going to be my office/reptile room (most likely more reptile room) for my snake collection. Not to mention a couple places I'd like to put nice displays (thinking one for a carpet and one for a colony of cresties).

And yes, outlets EVERYWHERE! Made sure of that since I have none right now!
