    Ball python tank size
Will a 20 gallon tank be enough for a full grown ball python?

Yes. They like lots of shelter and stay bundled up most of the day.

    Maybe a smaller male.

A 40 gal would be better.

I have my 4.5' female in a AP T10 with a shelf and she uses every inch of it including the shelf when she is out and about.

I would not house an adult ball python in less than a 40 breeder

IMO that's too small. At least 3 feet long would be best for an adult male under 1500g or so, or even larger for bp's larger than that.

They like lots of cover, hides, fake leaves and shelter, but they'll use the room given to them when out "hunting".
