Heat pack or not?

This is my first time shipping and I've looked at syr chart. I'd be dropping him off at 6 pm which temps would be around 80 but the nighttime temp dips under 70 at 9 pm for the whole night and their temp is sub 70 till 8:30 am. I'm shipping from Gilford NH to Winona MN

The temps you need to know are

6 pm at origin

11 pm to 5 am main hub

and destination between 7 am to 10.30 am or later depending if it is a remote area or not.


If all those temps are in the high 60's low 70's you do not need a heat pack.

Where's their main hub located? Memphis?

It depends where you are located and where the package will go and you will only know once you print your label

The first letter of the label will indicate to which main hub your package will be directed

We have very specific temp guidelines at our site, I will link the FAQ below.

We go by the daytime high in both origin and destination. If the daytime high in either location is between 70F and 91F, do NOT use a heat pack.

Nighttime temps, hub temps, everything else is relative. We have shipped hundreds of thousands of packages with our temp guidelines with outstanding success. The most common cause of DOAs in live reptile shipments is actually the mis-use of heat packs, either using them when you don't need them, using more than one, or using heat packs of less than 40 hour duration.

Reptiles can withstand cool temperatures much better than they can withstand hot temps.
