    Looking for first rack system
Hello, I am currently looking for my first rack system. I currently have 2 male BPs and only plan on buying one or MAYBE two more that will be female(s). I was originally looking into buying an AP adult 3 tier rack. Due to their wait times, I started looking else where. I found c-serpent racks. Will their sub adult racks be large enough for adult female BPs? Their sitesays its perfect for BPs up to 2000g.

Here is a link to the one I am looking at

Or would I need their adult rack for an adult female?

I recommend his racks a sub adult rack is fine. I got three and all my females are in them for now. I'm going to get them in adult racks eventually. You said the site says up to 2000g i'd say that's a good point to consider moving them up that's probably what i'll do cause none of my females are 2000 grams yet.

I want to add chris told me over the phone he keeps his females in sud adult racks. He said his females eat better in sub adult racks BUT he didn't mention up to how many grams he keeps his females in them.

Personally I'd shell out a little more cash and go with an ARS system. The ARS-7010 is about $100 per level and the frame is made of steel instead of plastic. I've seen videos of big rack systems made of plastic, they may be cheap and light but if you lean against them the whole thing shakes and that scares the heck out of me LOL. The last thing you need is someone pulling over your rack system. I can literally climb up my ARS racks like a ladder, they are rock solid. Being that solid you can add levels and stack it up to the ceiling to save space. And the tubs are thicker, and I really like the built in cup holders. I use the Dixie cups and just swap out the cups and save the old cups and wash them out every six months or so, makes maintenance a lot easier. Plus if you ever sell it I would think the resale value would be higher.

If you want a rack fast, have great quality and customer service C-Serpent is definitely the place.

The racks are light but sturdy, offer great security and are perfect for a growing collection.

The first one linked will be perfect for adult males and female up to 2000 grams the second will be perfect for females 2000 grams and over.

I know every snake is different, but if you had to take a guess(based on experience), how common is it for a female BP to get over 2000g? My GF has a 7 year old male that is a little over 900g, and I have an almost 8 month old male that's a little under 300g. I have zero experience with females, but I was thinking if you arent breeding them it would be kinda rare to have one get over 2000g. But that was just a guess based on my zero experience.

I was thinking I could get the 5 tier sub adult rack, but I guess I should play it safe and go with the 3 tier adult rack.

most of my females are 2200-2800g but my big girls are well over 3000g. Granted I breed but I'm pushing 50 females and only two are under 2000g and one is 1800 and has always been small the other is a problem feeder. when it comes to girls I go big on their tubs

Goodness! lol. Looks like I will be going with the 3 tier adult rack lol. Thanks for that info! The males are already use to being in larger tanks than typically recommended for their size. My GFs adult male was in a 40gal terrarium and is now in a 32qt tub. My little male has been in a 20gal terrarium since being 87g. So, I think they will be ok in the bigger tubs with proper hides in them.

If you are sure you won't be expanding, Drew from Advanced Caging Solutions makes great hollow-core pvc racks. I have a 5 tier 41 quart rack and a 5 tier 110 quart rack. They are built wide instead of deep, they utilize heat cord housed in one end of the rack. These racks work best with ambient room temps that stay around 75. I've gotten them from him within 2 weeks.

The room the rack will be in will be around 70F. I heard some questionable things about the heat rope. I dont have a lot of snake experience yet, but I feel like there is probably a reason that most other racks use flexwatt/heat tape. I could be wrong tho. I think I am gonna choose the C-serpent 3 tier adult V-70 rack due to the lead time. I wanted to go with AP because of their reputation and I emailed them and they were willing to customize the rack in certain ways for me. However, I dont think I can handle the wait time when I can have a C-serpent rack shipped in 7-14 days for like $50 more.
