    Please help: uncompleted shed
I think my bp shed last night. But it's unfortunately not all in one piece.

What i'm worried about is that i couldn't find his head part. I checked the shed pieces thoroughly but still couldn't. But his head looked clear and his eyes are also clear. What happened? Where has his head part gone? It really confuses me.

ps. That he shed in 4-5 pieces. May be because of a piece of wood that i use for decoration. Or too low humidity? But that can't be. (I always watch the humidity level.

Even if the humidity is ok, not all sheds come off in one piece. You can try to make a humidity hide next time with a little bit of damp moss under his favorite hide when he goes opaque, or bump the ambient humidity up just a little bit. If his head looks clear (as in it looks like it's shed) he should be okay, and if there's something left over, try a lukewarm/roomtemp soak or wait until his next shed to see if it comes off.

If I'm forgetting something, I apologize. I've been awake for 48 hours and am running on coffee fumes. I just wanted to reply because sheds are the one thing with my pythons that I still occasionally freak out about, so I can empathize.

The shed-in-one-piece thing is a little misleading. What this really means is that all the shed comes of at the same time. A snake that did not shed-in-one-piece would have stuck shed. About 50% of the time my animals truly leave me with a "perfect" shed. One that can be unrolled with no rips or pieces lying around the tub. I never have stuck sheds other than the times I have brought an animal in from another keeper. It is not unusual for the head portion to get ripped off in the process. This does not make it a bad shed. If the head piece balls up it can be surprisingly small and hard to find especially when it is a young snake. As long as you do not have stuck eye caps or stuck shed on the tail everything will be fine.

@JodanOrNoDan He is already 9 y o. But it could still be that the head piece got balled up. Today, i'll go find the missing part in his terrarium again it's may be hiding somewhere i overlooked this morning.
