Ball python didn't eat

So I got a ball python about 5 days ago,I haven't been holding him or messing with him because I was told not to for about 7 days, the pet shop I got him from said he usually eat like a champ and said that if he was moving around by Wednesday I could try and feed him ..... Well Wednesday came around and I defrosted the mouse but he wasn't interested in it. I was wondering if I should have waited the full 7 days or is he stressed out because of something I did or his Viv

36x18x18
Temperature is 84(day) 74(night) 94(hottest end) controlled by thermostat
2 hides(only really uses one)large water dish

I'd have waited 7 to 10 days before attempting to feed ...

The warm side temps are a shade too high ... 91 /92F Max I'd say .

What kind of thermometer are you using to get the temps - does it have a wire and a probe on the end ??

What is that under the black lamp - doesn't really look like any hide I've seen before ..!?

Does he use that open ended log hide ?

He's still stressed out with the changes. Also, how big is he compared to his enclosure??? Nice enclosure, but may be big for him... clutter it up and wait another week. Get him on rats if you can.

It's a piece of driftwood and that's the hide he uses the most and yeah I use a thermostat with a probe was thinking buying more stuff for the Viv because he's fairly small and was thinking that the other hide might be a little bit too big for him he only uses it when he is exploring at night

Based on the information and picture you have shared I think you would benefit from studying the husbandry stickies on this forum.

Your snake most likely doesn't feel secure in his enclosure, therefore won't be likely to eat.

Also, 94 is too hot and 74 is too cold. Not by much, but still off.

Also, open ended hides are not ideal for BPs. BPs prefer the cave type hides with only one opening, and they like them nice and snug.

More clutter and the proper hides and temps will be the first step towards getting your snake comfortable and eating.

You're best getting two identical snake hides ( one opening not those two opening log hides ..

One goes in the warm are a the other the cool area .

Identical is good as they then choose the best temperature rather than the hide they feel more secure in ...if that makes sense .
