    What Morph? (pics)
We've just added two corn snakes to our collection. They're not from any specific breeder and we were not after a specific morph. The only deciding factor on which corn we wanted was color and design. With that being said, I am wondering what morph these two babes are. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanx...

I'm not sure what they are but funny enough our local pet store has two very similar to them.

I'll have to go do a bit of googling, now my curiousity is aroused.

The top one looks like a normal or a Miami corn. The bottom one is albino.

I am almost 100% Loki is a crimson and Baulder is an amelanistic (90% on this one). Look on http://www.serpenco.com and browse through the 2005 hatchlings. The crimson looked spot on and the amels (this is a type of albinism) were close (also looks like amels I've seen at shows). Another good site to compare is http://www.dakotacorns.com.

Hope it helps! Good luck with the little ones!

^Sounds good, I think you may be right on both counts. You're great, thanks...

How about you, Miss Jo, what do you think?

I would definatly be hesitant to call it Crimson. Hypomelanism in cornsnakes reduces saddle borders greatly (and some are contemplating putting it with pattern morphs rather than color o.O) The borders in that snake are definatly there.. I'd say it's a beautiful Miami or normal, depending on if you're talking to a die-hard locale-ist, and depending on how true to color the pics are. Either way, that head pattern is a knock-out.. if you ever decide to sell him, let me know ;) lol Oh, and the second, like everyone else has said, but what the hay, is an amel. :) I'd keep an eye on her though, she may turn out to be a Sunglow :)

I really couldn't give an opinion on those snakes other than I wouldn't sell either of them for all the tea in China. Both are sweet looking! Unfortunately I've been down and out for 2 weeks with a horrible chest cold so haven't gotten into the pet store to see what they identified their two as that look so much like your two.

Just keep googling around and try to match them up with known morph pics is the best advice I can give you. Or have a corn snake breeder take a look at their pics for best advice.

Let us know what you find out. I'd love to know myself.

The first snake is a normal and the second is Amelanistic.

I had a baby that looks like the second snake in the pictures, shes quite a bit larger now.Ruby started out like that and now she is almost completly red and orange.I have no clue what she is but they could be the same morph, she looked identical to that when she was younger.
