Second opinion

Me and my family are very fond of snakes and decided to get a ball python, someone in town was getting rid of their collection, and was asking 40 for a 4yr old female Normal bp. We get her the same day. I find out that the lady was feeding her adult mice, the day before we got her she sould be eating bigger right? Second day, she goes up to the tank and acts like she wants out, so my uncel take her out and let's her roam around the bed. She does fine. Third day, we bring her to my house. She does the same thing, so we let her out. She goes up to my leg and pushed against it and latched on to me. It wasn't like a feeding latch because she wasn't tightening. So I my uncel gets her off me and we put her back in her tank.(I'm 13 and she's kinda big) She does fine when she is back in her cage, just goes to her hide. I don't know what it means. Is she hungry? The lady said she never stuck at her, and I wasn't even paying attention to her and she latches on to my leg and bites. She was doing perfectly fine before, she was exploring, please help.

A four year old female ball is usually eating medium rats weekly. How much does she weigh?

any new addition needs to be left completely alone for a minimum of 5 days to get used to their new environment, then you can you begin to handle them. leave the snake alone.

adult mice are entirely too small for a 4 year old female. you need to get her weight and feed her the appropriate sized prey.

But she is in a opaque tub with a 82° hot side,
And a 75° cold side. A cardboard hide that
She fits entirely in, a water bowl on the cool
Side that is big enough for her to fit in and a
Branch that lays above her water bowl. She has paper towel substrate like her previous owner had, along with a sim room lighting. That's what she has

82° is too cold for the hot side and 75° is as well. where and how are you taking these temperatures? is your hot side temp from ambient temps or from an actual hot spot/UTH? or are the temps taken on top of the substrate?

beeps should have 2 identical cave-like hides on each side of the enclosure. this reduces stress and allows them to regulate as they need to without them worrying about security.

It's not about what she eats but the quantity of what she eats, while most people will prefer to feed 1 live prey which is why they switch to rats, it is acceptable to feed mice so long you feed the right amount (which may take 4 to 5 mice a week).

Now if you decide to switch it may take time considering the age of the animal and in this case you will have to use tought love.

Ok, two hides,
The temps are Ambient and took above substrate.
What temps should I have then?? I also use a heat pad, no heat lamps. I won't use any connection, so I won't be able to respond for a few hours wile I'm getting frozen medium rats. And leave her be for a few days, got it.

Do you have a thermostat regulating the heat pad?
