First clutch is hatching!
I'm so excited! It's true what they say, it really does feel like Christmas! :D So a little backstory, I've been slowly acquiring balls for some cool breeding projects I've been interested in and long story short one of my pastel ball pythons was in quarantine when I checked on her and she had a small clutch of 4 eggs, two perfectly white, two with windows and one slug. Here's a picture the day the clutch was layed. The good egg on the right and the egg with the small window above it both molded and died about 3 weeks into incubation which I was surprised and upset about but the egg that was almost half window and tiny ended up staying good and today on day 53 of incubation the one on the left has come all the way out of the egg and the other has pipped, he looks much smaller than the other.

I'm so excited to see what the small one is, her/his head looks really cool and it's neck was super yellow. Anyone have any idea what they both are? The guy sold me the mom (a pastel) and two males that I'm assuming one of which is the father, the males were pastel yellow belly and the other was a vanilla. I'm thinking the one on the right is maybe a normal? And the one pipping is a vanilla pastel? I have no idea because I'm new to this and obviously once it's gotten out of the egg and had its first shed it will be much easier to tell but I'm just too excited so I had to post. Any help is much appreciated, I will post pictures once it's out of the egg and once they've both had first shed, needless to say I'm keeping them both no matter sex/morph :D:)

Re: First clutch is hatching!
I thought pastel as well when I first saw it but my other pastel babies are so much brighter yellow, so I assumed it was a normal. And I considered cutting but I don't want to bother it too much, plus it's already starting to come out of the egg a little more. The wait is killing me though!!

Rufretic, I've done extensive research before they even hatched just to make sure I would be prepared for any complications that may arise. Hard belly was one of the main things I already looked into and I don't believe that is what this is, her belly is not hard at all and I thought it was just a big fat belly from absorbing the yolk and sure enough this morning she looks to have already slimmed down, I palpated again and still no yard belly. Thanks for the concern though!
Thats great to hear! I was just concerned because the way her belly looked puffy in the pic but like I said, I'm new at this too so I have not seen many new hatchlings and thought it would be worth it to mention, just in case. Glad it doesn't seem to be the case. She sure is a pretty little thing! Good luck with them:)
