    Heat lamp dimmer ?
Making a list of things I need to pick up later this week that I didn't have in/for my setup.

I'm seeing people talking about a dimmer for their heat lamps. What are people using for this? Would a dial rheostat work for this - I already have a few of these.

I had pretty good success with those dimmers in the past. However, I did make sure to have them plugged into a power strip because it is not unusual for my house to have power spikes. Especially in the summer with the a/c turning on and off so much.

Even with the power strip I checked the temps often because it may shift as much as 5 degrees at any given time. YMMV

Thanks. Checked online and my close to local Home Depot has them, so will be getting one this week, and a new power strip because I've been slowly replacing all of the strips in my house. It's time the replace the one at the reptile cages now :)

Oh, and I have a temp and humidity gauge already on the way - an acurite with a temp probe to put over my uth and ambient temp and humidity sensor. Uth is currently plugged into a rheostat set low and a thermostat on on the list to order asap.
