    New Hide Placement
So I got a new hide for my BP today but now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not sure if I put it on the right side f the tank? It's a rock-like hide and I put it on the warm side, but I'm not sure how it will accommodate heat. Should I put it on the cool side instead?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b8c2bae0ff.jpg

    Is it stone or plastic?

    I'm pretty sure it's plastic but it's like a thick, heavy-duty plastic.

If that's the case, it should retain heat once the plastic heats up. I've got stone hides and the inside temp is just about a degree cooler but they had to heat up under the lights first till it would get that way. Another thing is keep an eye on the plastic and make sure it doesn't melt. I don't think it will but food for thought. If you got anymore questions I'd be more than happy to help. I'm new to this too but have already learned a lot. Hope I could help

The hide looks like exo terra cave, if it's not a copy, the material is resin. I have their snake cave, it doesn't melt on the heater, takes few hours to get warm but it keeps the heat well, great stuff.

I have 3 of those and they were great - I've since stopped using them as I switched to basic black plastic hides in my T10's - my ball python outgrew them.

I'd offer to sell but the shipping is probably high as they are kinda heavy (well built)

To be honest it's best to have at least two identical hides , one warm side -one cool side and any other hides and/or bark pieces the better ...

I know. I have two identical ones, but they're the open ended wood logs that everyone recommends to not use. She currently has the new hide and a coconut husk hide. Her tank is too small now for another hide.
