can't tell if lep gecko is male or female

hey
my friend has a one-year-old tailless leopard gecko named theo. he was originally believed to be male but now that is being re-evaluated.

what do you think, boy or girl?

they have a bulge but no pre-anal pores???

they need to know what sex the gecko before they get another one.

It looks like a female. But that has no bearing on the purchase of a new gecko. The new gecko should be quarantined for a minimum of 90 days, and then not housed with the established gecko. If a breeding project is what your friend is looking for, they need to start with a pair of leopard geckos that come from trustworthy breeders and have known genetics. There is no need to add to the muddy gene pool of mutt leopard geckos by breeding random animals.
