    Almost ready to pair?
I put together an incubator over the weekend and have been letting it run to see how it does. I used a small fridge that was heading for the dump.
Heat tape is in and running through a stat. A probe is hanging in the middle of the fridge and an acurite is sitting on the middle shelf. With the stat set to 90 the temp in the middle is reading right around 88deg.
We have started gathering parts for a hatchling rack.

My female pinstripe and male pewter are going to be our first pairing. It was going to be the Pewter and Enchi but she is not ready yet.
Next year we will be trying for a blue eyed lucy or black eyed lucy with a few of my other snakes.

I have been reading a lot and there is a lot of good information. Everyone seems to have their own method.
Some drop temps some don't. Some wait till fall, some don't.
If everything is looking good, is there any reason why I can't start introducing the male now?

If they are ready you can in introduce them you just need to be smart about it and introduce them when you have the most chances.

    Re: Almost ready to pair?
Placed my pewter in with the pinstripe last Sunday night and left him in there for 3 days. I didn't witness any locks.
First time I checked they were at opposite ends of the tub. Then in the back next to each other. Then intertwined but I could see their tails away from each other.
I suppose I could have missed it. I was trying not to be too much of a pest.
We'll give them a couple weeks and try again.
