New habitat... is he exploring?
How's it goin folks, I recently had a major upgrade in habitat for my BP. I've got his cold side at an average of about 75F and my hot side at about 85F. I got a fogger going that keeps the humidity at roughly 70%. He has a hide on both sides and a water dish on both sides. He also has a spartan helmet (basically another hide, but good for aesthetic looks) and a plastic bamboo shoot to climb on, on both sides of the terrarium. But my question/ concern is that he's moving around quite a lot. I'm assuming he's just getting familiar with the new terrain but idk. He's only been in it for about 4 days. If someone would like me to I can post a pic of the new habitat so you can visually see it. I hope he's just checking stuff out, but I'd like some others input just to see. Hope to hear from someone soon, thank you.

Here you go fellas and thanks for the tips I think I'll move that little 25w lamp to cold to warm that up and bigger higher wattage for the hot side, we have the red light on cause that's the light we use at night for him.

Re: New habitat... is he exploring?
I use a towel to cover my top about 3/4 of the way with a 60 watt bulb and a heating mat both on thermostats. I would say that he is just roaming to get a feel for his safe spots. my BP romed for a couple days before he settled down to the cools side hide. I would say give him a few more days and see if he calms down a bit and if you get your temps up and he eats I would assume he is ok
Re: New habitat... is he exploring?
Ok thank you everyone for the input and I'm glad everyone likes the helmet.
However... we have a new break through since the changes I've made to help improve his enviorment. Let me start by re-explaining my set up this time a little more organized lol
Hot side
-water dish
-rock cave hide
-75w heat lamp w/ 75w red halogen
- UTH on inkbird thermostat
-Ambient temp ranges from 92-96F
- Belly temp is being tampered with to aim for a constant 90F
Cold Side
-water dish
-temple rock hide
-25w mini dome w/ 25w red halogen
-no UTH
-Ambient temp ranges from 83-86
Overall
- Moss mat liner
- reptifogger keeping a range of 40-60% (still working out the kinks)
- bamboo poles on both sides for climbing habits
- sweet spartan helmet in the middle to double as a climbing object/ hide
- black foam board cutouts on the top to help insulate heat and humidity (btw doing a awesome job and looks amazing)
Now the only thing I've noticed with his behavior is that he stays in the cold hide a lot. Idk why this is so if you can guys have any other questions about the setup just shoot them at me. But please help me decypher what's going on if anything is going on. Also gonna post some new pics of what's going on
