How old would a 20cm beardie be?
    Hi all,
The boyfriend would like a beardie for his birthday, so here I am doing as much research as I can :) Now, my problem is I want to buy a viv that is 4ft, and it says on the listing not to be used with beardies under 20cm. The beardies He's seen were born Friday the 30th, and will be ready to go on the 12th of August so they'll be six weeks old. How big would they be? I don't really want to have to buy a smaller viv because I know they grow so fast, but if needs be then needs be. Any help is much appreciated!

They will be well under 20 cm at just over one month old. A 4 foot tank will be much too large.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about. Do you know how old they would be at 20cm?

They can grow quick with the right conditions! My friend starts all her dragons out in a 15 gallon for a few months and then upgrades once they are strong, eating well, until their bodies are as long as her palm.

When I used to keep Beardies I had a stack of three 5' x 2' wooden Vivs which housed 4 females and a male. While they were juveniles I used to split the Vivs with a piece of wood until they were about 4-5 months old. A pair of females then just shared 2 and the male had free run of one. At around 18 months they would be breeding ready. By 4-5 months I would imagine he'll be more than happy with that space.

Thank you both :) I'm thinking I might look in to a partition, where should I aim to put it?
