    Here we go again....
So three new BP at work. All born first of january. ALL again under weight. 58g for these boys. Going on week three of not eating. I went down a size today, put used stinky mice bedding for the smell and also to shake and bake the mice for extra umph. I know their husbandry is off (humidity) temp is ok. They just seem scared to eat. They have not lost 10% body weight so I can't take them to a vet. Any other ideas? I can't feed them in their enclosure either. I'm at my wits end and worried sick.

Is this at a pet store? Maybe post pics of their setup and if they have hides?

They have hides, water and a plant. And wood chips...which I hate. I can't mist every hour since the wood molds if I do and I can't change it since the woods chips are required.

I'm the snake girl in the store and I feel like I'm an idiot. I have my own snake who is awesome and doing fantastic.

I assume you have to use F/T mice too?

We use F/T because live rats are illegal where I live. Take a rat and put it in tge mouse bag (or vice versa) in the freezer for a week. And it can't be helped in a pet store I imagine but some if our snakes only eat in the dark. So we use a red light to see in the start...now we leave it and its gone in the morning.

Since your snake is doing well proves you know what your doing and what is right. You'll just have to do the best you can. You are having to move them to a feed box. Are you feeding one at a time? Are you heating the feeders up to around 90 or more? Grab the feeders by the back or shoulder area with tweezers and hold it still in front of the snake. Try holding it steady at first and don't touch the snake, see if the snake gets interested. Maybe you could put some paper towel or paper over the top of the snake and let it feel like it is kind of hiding and put the mouse near the place the snake could come out from under.

I can't leave it overnight since we feed out of the habitat. They are in a feed box that closes. I put them in them box into a tank with a red heat lamp and them sprinkle used m ou se bedding on them screen top. One did eat today. Attempted assist feed on the other two. One might have took the other said no damn way lol.

Its only been 3 weeks? I wouldn't assist feed yet I don't think. Unless they are severely underweight. What are you warming the rats top?
