I need help setting up my tub/rack!!!
Recently got a single level rack from Tallgrass Racks for my boy Harvey. It uses belly heat with Flexwatt. I posted pictures of where my probe is and set it to 93 degrees. However im concerned because although the heat tape gets warm and the thermostat claims the probe is at 93 degrees even when my snake is not in the tub my thermometer (back left corner of tub) never goes above the average room temp. Is this normal? I'm not worried about my thermostat being faulty or wrong.

The tstat probe should NOT be inside the tub. It goes outside on the flexwatt.

You don't want the tstat probe inside so it can not be moved or urinated on which can make the tstat think the hotspot is cold and ramp up the power. This puts your snake in harm of being burned.

Also flexwatt is going to do very little for the air temp in the tub which is most likely what the thermometer probe is registering.

    ^--- all that right there.
Use hot glue to fix the hole in the tub.

so the air temp doesn't matter as long as the bottom of the tub at the back measures in at around 90-92 degrees?

With the tub floor at 90-92*F your ball python will be plenty warm, especially if you put a hide over the heat tape. The ambient under the hide will be higher than the rest of the tub.
