1000+ grams :)

My female bp finally passed the 1000 gram mark. She weighed in at 1080 grams today. I really doubt she will be ready to breed this year. Even if she were to hit 1500 grams, she will be a slender 1500 (she is about 44.5 in. now and still growing). For her current length, she would need to be about 1850 grams to be a good breeder. Looks like I won't be producing any ball pythons til' 2007....but thats ok...I don't mind the wait...I might have time to save up for a nice pastel male to put her with by then :D

nice! i know what you mean about waiting though--i have a 1400+ gram girl and she is nowhere near ready yet. she's just doesn't have the tone or the girth yet--she doesn't seem that big at all.

Sif is so lovely tho Daniel it'll be worth the wait I bet.

funny thing is....I just bought an incubator and supplies from Matt....I guess that is going in the closet for a year :D

you were just overly excited about the whole getting married thing and went a little overboard. it's ok. i'm just glad you changed your mind. :)

keep your eye on local pet shops and newspaper ads. sometimes people give away/sell cheap big snakes. i've found a few good deals this year at pet shops, you have to get in with them though.

gotcha vaughn, but I promised the fiance that I would take it easy until I get out of grad school. Probably no new bps for a while....but once we get out of the apt. and I get a full time job :devilish: .....ha....I have a list of what I already want to get :D

Very responsible of you Daniel. Just think too, this will give you even more time to get the new wifey all stuck on ball pytons (gorgeous desk top pics are a must in this evil plan). Then one day you'll come home to her pricing out the morph she wants! LOL

Remember it was Mike that wanted our original Ball Python. Yes Baby was bought for me as a mother's day present but the evil plan in that worked and now I'm hooked! I personally back then thought they were "boring, plain looking snakes that just sit there in ball", basically nice enough snakes but no biggie deal. How little did I know LOL.
