    How to determine age?!
I am unsure of how old my ball python is, he is 18 inches long. I know length is not an accurate way to determine age but I'm just so curious for a general idea if anyone has one. I will purchase a scale soon to determine mass.

    Here is Severus Snape :)

You ask the hatch date to the vendor other than that you don't, you could have a 250 grams maintenance fed 1 year old animal like you could have 1100 grams 1 year old animal or even a 3 months old 250 grams animals.

    Lots of variability.

I recently purchased a two year old BP that was on a maintenance diet at roughly 250 grams ( I have yet to wiegh him). So unless you have a way to ask the breeder/vendor you generally won't know.
