My Red Tail just tried to constrict himself!!!

I just trew him around my neck while I changed out his bedding and my husband said he's choking himself, I panicked and saw that he had his tail wrapped around his neck and he was opening his mouth looking for air, has anyone ever seen this before?!?! I've always done this with my BP AND IVE NEVER had this happen....any insight?!

Wondering if maybe he was trying to hold himself from slipping and didn't realize the "branch" his tail was wrapped around was his own neck?

My Caulkers Cay did that when I first got her - as lady said I think she didn't realize that "branch" was her body lol

My snakes have done special ed things before but nothing like this lol. Good thing he didnt choke himself out lol.
