    Just to let you know...
On August 10th, President Bush signed the Safe, Accountable, Flexible and Efficient Transportation Equity Act of 2005: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU).

Approved by Congress on July 29, the bill will provide $286.5 billion for transit and highway projects during the next six years.

"With the signing of this very important bill, we move forward into the 21st century with funding to maintain our existing infrastructure and develop new transit projects that are important to relieve congestion, improve mobility for all Americans and strengthen our economy," said American Public Transportation Association President William Millar in a prepared statement.

Here is a summary of the act:

I just thought that this was rather important because it pretty much ensures transit projects for the next 6 years which is almost guaranteed job security/opportunities for anyone involved in transit construction :)

Wow. I think that most people already need to go out and get a second parttime job just to pay for gas! My entire paycheck basically pays for gas for my boyfriend and I's truck. :(
But there should be alot of new "union" highway workers out there now. Drive carefully..
