Sterilite locking tubs secure?
Two questions if I may, I am doing my research + prep before getting 2 female BP's. I want to make a mock rack out of a slot in my melanite cube storage shelf. I found some 15qt sterilite tubs with the latches on the ends that fit perfect with an added shelf in the middle. My understanding is I can keep a young one in there till about 500-700 grams weight.
1. Will the latched lids be strong enough to keep them secure, or should I go ahead and make the divider shelf higher to just leave the lid off like a normal rack system? What about the regular tubs that don't have the locking handles?
2. How long does it take (rough estimate) for a 100g BP to grow out of this size of tub? I have the resources to make the next size up in the mean time while they grow so changing enclosures wont be an issue once they graduate.
Thank you for any help :snake:
Re: Sterilite locking tubs secure?
Thank you for the response. I expected a 15 qt tub last longer than a few months lol. Perhaps i'll build out both tub sizes before I get my BP's.
Re: Sterilite locking tubs secure?
Thank you for the wisdom and replies! I suspected as much that the two latches on the ends would not be enough. I have seen some tubs like those target ones, good idea! I can certainly make a proper rack system, as that was my initial plan. If i get lucky find one for sale on craigslist in my area for a good price.
The gram size to qt size does differ in opinion from what I've read, but had to double check from my findings just to get a feel for it.
I'm soaking up as much as I can, this is a great forum with a wealth of knowledge!
