    cold
Lately my bp has been staying on the cool end of the enclosure and has been going under the newspaper. I dont think it is because he is to hot because it is 84 on cool end and only 88 on hot end. If anyone knows why he is doing i would love your opinion.

Ball pythons will generally go to the cooler end when a incorrect temperature gradient is provided. Get your warm side up to 92-94. You only have a 4 deg. temp gradient now....that does not allow for too much thermoregulation. Other than that, ball pythons sometime have preferences....or they change sides and you never notice....you cant watch them 24/7 :)

What kind of shelter or hiding spots do u have ? Bp prefer a hiding spot where it can hide comfortably (low and compact) but not too much space around it. Ideally u might want to place 2 hiding spots at both end of the cage.

Get a heat emitter. I have had the same one for over 2 years now, well worth the investment. Plus, you cant keep a light on all the time, it could stress your snake out.
