Sexing ball python

I just did the "popping" method to try to sex my python, I'm pretty sure from what I could tell she is female (pet shop wasn't sure as they didn't sex her yet before I bought her). My question is how accurate is the popping method? it is possible I didn't push hard enough but I don't wanna hurt her, does this method bother them at all?

Pooping doesn't hurt them as long as it is done correctly. If you have not popped before it is possible that you didn't get the sex correct. I pop as it's easier for me than probing but either way you have to know what you are doing in order to sex correctly and avoid injury to the snake

I watched a bunch of videos but I still could have done it wrong. How much does it cost (average) to have somebody sex her for me?

Buy the probe kit I have 3 of them all different sizes I got 1 from pets smart and 1 from eBay and the nicest one that's good plated for 45 at a reptile show but it's my favorite one not because it's gold plated but because their the perfect sizes in that kit for all age and size ball pythons and they have the round ball at the end of the steel rod so it males it way safer for the snake

How much was the one from petsmart? I thought about doing the probe thing but wasn't sure how comforting that is, not only for the snake but for me lol

Most breeders will be willing to sex it for you or show you how to do it yourself. Depending on where you are at find a decent local breeder and ask. Worst they can say is no.

The problem with videos is that they do not give you an idea on how much pressure you really need to put on the animal.

In the majority of people that try to sex their animal for the first time, they either do not place their fingers properly (either too far or to close) and do not apply enough pressure.

Best is to have someone show you in person and after that it's about practice.

I have tough a few people over the years including my vet.

That was my problem I didn't know if I I was using enough pressure and didn't wanna use too much and hurt her. The last time I did it this morning I got a pretty good view and only saw 1 so I think I did it right but still could have been not using enough pressure

Only saw 1? If you saw anything other than a sent gland it's male.

Pop him/her and take a photo of it. That will tell if you are doing it correctly and the sex
