    !Hygrometer help! - Newbie
I am a first time ball python owner and have been researching constantly for all my needs, this site has helped tremendously! I just am wondering what the best hygrometer (and at the same time cost effective) hygrometer would be. I currently have the dual temp/humidity cheap-o one from petco just for now, but really would like to know what would be best for accuracy. I looked around my area (home depot and walmart) for the accu-rite inexpensive one that everyone says is super accurate and cannot find it anywhere. I am a bit less worried about temp at this point as I have purchased an infrared temperature gun (I'm using only UTH heater), but very much worried about the accuracy of maintaining proper humidity levels.

Long story short, not sure which one to get!

As far as I have read, the temperature on the zoo med dual hygrometer/thermometer is pretty accurate.. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I really would like to have any and all criticism or comments, I have thick skin (haha). I just want to do best by him!

This one works well for both temp and humidity... $12 and I get similar readings with my accurites and temp gun

Awesome! Thanks so much. Ordered the acurite. What is the best way to install this? As in, where is best placement for the probe? As I have stated I have a UTH so do I place it under or above substrate or against the wall of the tank?

under the substrate on the floor. i use a bit of sticky tack (like you use with posters) to secure the probe in place; others use hot glue.
