Is my UTH burning my ball python?

Hi so I've just set up my UTH I got from the pet store and my jump start thermostat today for my ball python, the highest it has gotten today is only about 90℉ because it takes SO long to heat up but my snake has not been wanting stay in her hiding spot in her log (which is where I placed the UTH underneath) like usual and is it instead laying outside of the hiding log. I don't know but the UTH feels hot to me and yet it's only 86.9℉ right now and has been at that temp for a good ten minutes even though the heating light is supposed to be making it go to 92℉ where I set it. Someone please help I don't want to burn her.

Ok... Quick question... Should the thermometer probe be placed in the substrate in the tank or in between the UTH and the tank on the outside?

Placed between the heat pad and glass outside the tank. Also, make sure there is a gap for airflow under the tank.

Alright so the UTH came with little adhesive balls to put on each of the four corners outside of the tank so it stands about half an inch off the table now, is that enough air flow? Also what temp would it be good to set it for now that the probe is in between the UTH and the tank?

A half inch? Should only be enough for the tank to clear the uth.

You will have to find what temp you need the tstat set. First off the substrate should be no more than a 1/4 inch over the uth. You lose some heat but with thin glass and thin substrate layer it shouldn't be much higher than your desired temp but it may be by a few degrees. Take it slow and allow the uth to level out before changing the tstat again if needed. They don't change that fast so like I said take it slow.

The thermometer probe can go in the tank. Put it under the substrate on the cage floor.

The thermostat probe always goes outside the cage when using it to control a uth. Between the uth and cage floor is the most common location to place it but you can put it under the uth if you need to.

No need for airflow, i use aluminium tape and over the whole UTH. Also I have my probe between the tank and the uth using a jump start and never had a problem. If its hot to you its not set at 90. Get another thermometer to double check the temps.

With a glass tank it is reccomended that there is a gap between the uth and whatever the enclosure is resting on.

If it's hot to the touch it's to hot. I would get the snake out and figure it out first

92 is not hot enough to burn anything or anyone now the question is do you have a Thermostat?

The thermostat probe goes outside the enclosure between the UTH and the enclosure

The thermometer probe goes inside the enclosure right above the hotspot
