Good t stat for one snake
Right now I have just one python a and I found a 4ft AP cage that will last a while until he gets too big. I'm currently using a hydrofarm t stat I've gotten from amazon and has seemed to work just fine in the past. With just one snake is it wise to jump up to a herpstat? I understand they are proportional and better overall than the turn on/off method I'm using now. I will be hooking it up to a RHP

Herpstat is awesome. I'll also add a BP will not outgrow a 4ft AP cage

An RHP is controlled best with a proportional controller. Well, in my opinion any heat mat, tape or panel is best with proportional control.
Whichever model controller you get, just make sure it is a proportional.
There are two types - pulse-proportional and dimming proportional. Either will work great.

Herpstat 2. There the bomb. Control 1 heat source & lights or 2 heat sources. The best Safety functions on the market too.
