PLEASE HELP - URGENT - bp ate too much
hey, i'm kind of freaking out right now.
i usually give my bp mice, but this time i gave him a rat.
after he started eating the rat i realized it was way too big for him, but he had already latched on and wouldn't let go. he usually eats in 10 minutes, but it took him around 40 minutes to eat the rat.
i put him back in his enclosure and left him alone to digest.
usually, 24 hours after eating he is completely normal, active, moving around, etc.
however it has been around 52 hours and he is still the same.
not moving at all, with a HUGE lump.
at first i was like "okay i will wait this out and let him digest" but im worried now
the lump is very very big and im worried about his ribs collapsing, or regurge, etc.
he does not move, no tongue flicker, and his breathing is very slow
what should i do?? take him to the vet? i don't want to risk amything

thanks for your reply
i am kind of freaking out so i'm taking him to the vet anyway
better safe than sorry, right??
Re: PLEASE HELP - URGENT - bp ate too much
Hinestly he needs more time tha usual to digest and be left completely alone vet might not know enough about snakes and move it or even suggest wildly inaccurate diagnoses for whats a digesting BP. Leave it alone for 2 more days at least no touching no moving completely ignore it.

Great idea if you want to induce a regurgitation with the trip and the exam
The vet won't do anything for you, and the animal needs to be left alone with no stress, no handling let alone traveling.

Vet trip will make it worse and probably cause a regurge. Just leave him alone

This. Don't move him, fool with him, stress him, etc. Feel free to skip the next feeding. Also ensure his temps and humidity are correct, you could even bump the humidity up a bit by adding another water bowl, since fresh water is needed for digestion.
