Rate A Single Gene Morph Poll #1
In the interest of a thread I started awhile back about rating single gene morphs I am going to make myself victim number 1. This is poll #1 in a series. Please vote honestly. If you do not like the animal I will not take it personally. I am purposely not saying what the morph is. Pictures were taken with an iphone with the animal inside a light tent. There was no flash used and no enhancements were applied. My picture taking ability is still lacking. All the blushing on this specimen is yellow.

First up. 11 month old female at 1218 grams.

The last option was supposed to be "I don't know what it is but I like it". Admin can you please fix? Thanks.

Thanks to all that have voted on this Mojave. Regardless of how you voted and the fact that no animal is completely bad or completely good what is missing from this animal to make it perfect?

I personally love this animal's color, blushing, side pattern and growth rate. What I also like that cannot be told from this picture is that she actually started out as a rather dull baby. Unlike many other mojaves that I have raised, with the exception of her mother, her coloration has brightened with each successive shed. She is also, like both her parents, a very mellow easy handling animal. I think she may have missed a single meal since she hatched and then only because she was deep in blue. Her mother is an average eater, her father a glutton.

What I do not like about her...
I do not like her dorsal striping or lack there of. It more resembles what I would expect on a phantom. From an economic perspective, I do not like waiting for an animal to "come into color" before selling it. I would actually have to hold offspring for about six months before they start showing their true potential.

For me personally, I like the darker Mojaves that have a nice fade between belly and back. I also like a nice bright dorsal stripe. However, I haven't bred, so I'm not sure how this affects the look when combined with other genes.

I agree on the dorsal stripe especially on a single gene animal. Her daddy was a phantom and I think some of her pattern wonkiness is coming from there.

I personally prefer my mojaves with as little black as possible and reserve blackness as a distinction of phantoms. Phantoms have to have some nice blacks in my book. I do have two other lines of mojave, one that is very dark and one somewhere in between. I am making albinos with those and shooting for a darker purple passion rather than the light ones I have produced. This lighter mojove with yellow blushing has been combining very well with enchi and pastel. My darker mojaves started life way better looking than this girl, but as time went on just got darker and darker loosing a lot of yellow along the way. This girl gets more yellow and lighter with each consecutive shed.

i voted she was average but that's b/c i agree w/ BPgator and prefer darker Mojo's with dorsal stripings. my 2nd snake was one of those. but i can see how her lighter colors could work towards other projects. :gj:

I am going to post one of my dark girls soon. I am actually surprised people some people like the darker ones with the popularity of things like high yellows and hypo right now. I would have guessed that people liking the darker animals would lean more to phantoms instead of mojaves. This is why I am doing the poll though. With the exception of the dorsal striping being not to my liking she is a pretty hot mojave in my eyes. Her mom used to be my favorite until she was born. She got her mom's overall coloration and her dad's yellow blushing.
