    Air pockets under skin???
Air Pockets and crackling under RTB's skin?! I've been given her shots for an RI and make sure I enter the muscle and don't go under the skin... but 3/4 down her body (lower then where I give the injections) whenever I run my finger down the sides of her spine it makes a crackling/piping noise!? She doesn't appear to be in pain. Only started after she was given her first shot of antibiotics at the vet and I noticed there's a lot of air in the needles so I started to push out the air before the injections now... ANYONE know what I'm talking about? Thanks.

Which antibiotic? Baytril is known for causing skin issues.

I would call your vet. He/she is going to need to see your snake again. None of us can diagnose over the internet. And not sure if the vet showed you how to do the injections by doing the first but you always want to point the needle up and flick it with your finger and push the air out before you inject. I had to give my 6.5' girl shots of Fortaz every other day for a month for a sinus infection and never encountered what you are talking about.

I called and they said it's air from the injections and just air pockets from not going far enough with the needle. I said I've done these before always angle it and enter directly into the muscle. The only difference was the vet this time didn't let the air out of the needle and never said I need to. But I knew that was rather odd and made sure I did it when I got home.

Ceftazidime = Fortaz / Tazicef, it doesn't typically cause these reactions.

Are you sure your snake isn't popping a shed? Sometimes just before they do the skin can get very dry and crackly as the old skin lifts off the body.

She's not about to shed her skin.. if that's what you mean? She's not even in shed.
