    High humidity issue
    Hi all,

In the last week or so I have been struggling to keep the humidity down in my tubs hitting high 70's.
They have always been around the 60% mark except when in shed, when I add a damp cloth above their warm hides.
Today though I checked and they were all around 80-82%.

Temps are around 25-26c cool and 32-33c on the warm side.

I've checked for water spillage and waste.

I've added a few more holes

In general the temps in the UK are a little higher this week around 23c.

    Any help much appreciated.

Add a heat lamp or an UVL lamp (the one I'm using right now) they usually kills off humidity pretty quickly.

UVL you can let it be on all the time its not problem, but a heat lamp only limited time per day its between 6 hours - 12 hours.

High humidity is not a problem if the enclosure is kept scrupulously clean. If you're using paper as substrate in your tubs and doing a complete clean-out every time your snake makes a mess then it shouldn't be an issue.

Unfortunately they are all in either 12L or 18L RUBs so any lighting from above is not possible.

Thanks for the reply. That is my set up paper towel apart from a little Aspen in the hides but I clean them all out weekly as part of my handling routine and weight check. It's only a 15min job for the 3 of them.

Thought I had everything spot on until this week.

Having an oscillating fan in the room (corner away from the rack) will get the air moving and drop the humidity a bit. I have a fan in my snake room for this and to keep the air fresh in my cages.

Thanks, I did read something similar in another thread that I was trying to find. Wasn't sure if it was temp or humidity that was a solution for. Will defo give it a go.
