Need advice on BP behavior
So I want to start off by saying my BP was spending a lot of time on cold side of the enclosure (80%)
The amount that he actually used a hide and stayed in hot side is like (20%)
But even tho he's eating good, still sleeping during majority of his time on cold side.
But ever since I inserted a thermostat (Jumpstart) and set the temp to 88-92 (for hot side) now all he does is stay in the hide.
The hot side temp before I had the thermostat was around 92-96 maybe 97ish
My explanation for this was that my hot side was too hot for him, and now cuz of thermostat he actually feels comfortable.
But I'm not entirely sure need some advice from the more experienced.

All of my uth are on tstats but hardly any of my snakes use their hotspot. It would probably be about the ratio you first described.
The only thing that matters is all the temps in the cage are acceptable. If they are it didn't matter where the snake likes to be.
Get yourself a IR temp gun so you can better monitor surface temps. They are cheap on Amazon.
Yeah sounds good

Definitely I would say to much heat was the problem. You are very lucky he never got burned or neurological issues those temps can be detrimental to a ball. But all seems good now correct?
